*How Does It Work?

Sculptra® is injected into the treatment areas with a fine needle. These areas can be numbed before the injections to minimize discomfort. Biocompatible poly-L-lactic acid stimulates new collagen growth to restore fullness by reversing the hollowness associated with age-related loss of facial fat. Each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, though the duration may vary depending upon the number of areas being treated. Results from Sculptra® can last up to two years, and patients typically see continued improvement as more and more collagen is replaced. Some patients require three to six Sculptra® treatments to maximize the cosmetic advantages.

What About After My Injection?

Minimal swelling, redness, or tenderness may occur at the treatment site when using any dermal filler. However, side effects are typically very mild and resolve quickly. Our patients usually resume their regular activities as soon as they leave our office, and many choose to have Sculptra® treatments performed during their lunch hour.
